About Trupart
|
 |
The history of the current Trupart Company can be traced back
to the acquisition of WST Automotive Limited. In April 1995 the current Trupart management team acquired WST Automotive
Limited, which was then a small company with a limited number of product ranges and a relatively small customer
base. The new management of the company initiated a strategy to add value and accordingly introduced a brand name, detailed
product cataloguing and operational measures to ensure high levels of customer service. A team of fully employed
field salesman were recruited and by offering customers a well-defined and competitive package sales grew quickly. |

 |
Following strong sales and profit growth, a distributor in Glasgow,
International Motor Part Supplies Limited was acquired and the same systems and culture that had worked well in
Doncaster for WST were applied in Glasgow. IMPS sales grew quickly and the company soon became a key distributor
in Scotland, offering a same day delivery service to the Glasgow and surrounding areas with an overnight service
to other areas of the country.
In January 1997 the assets of McKenna Enterprises Limited were acquired along with the brand MEL Auto. These were
quickly integrated into the operation in Doncaster and this resulted in several new product ranges being added
to the WST Portfolio. |
|
Following further growth and the successful integration of MEL
Auto the business of Trupart Limited then based in Welwyn Garden City, was acquired. This acquisition further enhanced
the product offer, developed the customer base and also included the Trupart brand, which was to be the vehicle
for further growth in the coming years. In November 1999 the company relocated to larger and more efficient premises
and in June 2000 adopted the Trupart name.
In June 2000 the company acquired the shareholding of the Venture Capitalist who had funded the original acquisition
of WST and now the company is truly an independent business.
Future growth will come from further extensions to the product range and also through the acquisition of selected
businesses which show potential for growth. |
